Documentation

As a private user

A "private user" is a user not connected with a dgBirds account. He uses the Documentation service for free.

The Documentation service nicely reproduces the exact architecture of your Dropbox or Google Drive dedicated folders. Documents are displayed on shelves organized by libraries. It allows you to:

  • Be notified of new documents.
  • Import and synchronize documents.
  • Easily browse through PDF, audios, videos.
  • Easily preview any other types of documents (iOS compatible).
  • Search words into PDF documents.
  • Personalize documents with notes, highlightings and handwriting notes.
  • Add bookmarks to easily find pages.
  • Organize your documents on desktops.

As a professional user

A "professional user" is a user connected with a dgBirds account, as invited by your administrator. He has access to much more valuable features, in order to:

  • Be notified of new or updated versions of administrated documents.
  • Synchronize versions of administrated documents.
  • Acknowledge revisions as requested by your administrator.
  • Navigate efficiently through revisions with review notes.
  • Compare consecutive revisions of documents thanks to a dual view interface.
  • Get versions of documents to be checked or validated, in advance.
  • Keep your documents' personalization when revised (notes, bookmarks).
  • Have your notes, bookmarks and desktops saved and restorable when needed.
  • Send feedbacks, typos or report an issue on a given page.
  • As a “reviewer“ of a “review” version of a document, edit a “review note” per page, to detail changes or give relevant information to final recipients of the document.

All documents are visible through your « Inbox » as long as needed to be aware of new or revised documents.

As an administrator

The administrator manages the Documentation service he has subscribed to. He has different back-office roles in order to:

  • Administrate  documents (libraries and shelves).
  • Contribute regulatory, standard or important documents.
  • Distribute versions of documents (any type such as PDF, audios, videos, Word, Excel, ZIP, ...).
  • Monitor the synchronization of each user.
  • Monitor the synchronization of each document.

All administrated documents are securely distributed to tablets and the administration platform has a very high state-of-the-art SLA.

The account owner manages users and groups of users. He can:

  • Synchronize active directory with LDAP.
  • Manage users and groups.
  • Manage settings of groups.
  • Manage rights of groups.
